The re-appointment of Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein as Education Minister will ensure continuity, said Education director-general Datuk Alimuddin Mohd Dom.
He said yesterday the ministry would ensure projects and plans under the National Education Blueprint 2006-2010 were implemented.
Who shares your sentiments EDG? We have been working off our butts and walking around like people without heads because of the National Education Blueprint or PIPP (Pelan Induk Pembangunan Pendidikan). Do you know how tensed it is to be a teacher these days?
Congratulations to Hishammuddin on retaining your portfolio so u can continue to torture us another 5 years. Can u tell me why there are no posts for PK1 and PKKK for Grade B Schools? Does it mean PKHEM can do all the work for PK1 and PKKK? Also why only PKHEM and PK1 are DG44 scale whereas PKKK only DG41? They are all Senior Assistants but with different portfolios. Can u tell me whether ministers get different salaries because of their portfolios? How many years have these PK's been told they are DG44 but have yet to see in black and white?
How come Form 6 PK's all a higher scale than other PK's? Come on, back to the argument just now. What about all Ketua Bidang getting DG44 (yet to be implemented) and yet PKKK still DG41? Creating more opportunities for promotion is most welcome but in doing so, do not sideline the rest who are as deserving.
May i advise ur team to think long and hard before coming up with unfair perks to generate more dissatisfaction and frustration among the teaching staff? If ur team is inefficient, may i suggest u get rid of them and get deserving people based on meritocracy.

I am not a teacher but my family and extended family come from a long line of teachers. I have seen how a dedicated teacher can suffer from stress and all the illnesses that stress can bring. For that reason, I will always respect a teacher, particularly a dedicated teacher, especially in these times when all eyes on teachers to perform for a minumum of wages.
