The scenario is different here. Malaysia has been celebrating Teachers' Day on May 16 since 1972.
This date was chosen because in the same month in 1956, the Federal Legislative Council of the Malay States had received suggestions in the form of documents from the Education Committee regarding Teachers' Day as the base of education in Malaysia.
The documents, known as the Razak Report, are the foundation of education in Malaysia.
So now we know why Teachers' Day falls on May 16.
Today I received many sms from friends and I want to share some of them.
#1:
Teacher is like PEPSI..."Ask for more"
Teacher is like NIKE..."Just do it"
Teacher is like NOKIA..."Connecting People"
Teacher is like MCD..."I'm loving it"
Happy Teachers' Day

#2:
I can appreciate coffee without susu, nights without lampu, curry without lembu, burgers without keju, but NOT schools without GURU. Happy Teachers' Day.

So Happy Teachers' Day

I just realized that all the pics here are food and drinks. Then it dawned upon me that I have not had my dinner! So, Happy Teachers' Day to all out there especially the celebrity Cikgu Arthur, the lovely Beatrice, my buddies Ah Lang, Lee Ling, Vicky and Lucy, all my colleagues and ex-colleagues especially Kosongz, all my ex-KPLI-mates, all the great teachers and principals I have worked with, all my fellow Permai Campers and you too if you are one!
