According to Wikipedia, Ching Ming denotes a time for people to go outside and enjoy the greenery of springtime (踏青 Tàqīng, "treading on the greenery"), and also to tend to the graves of departed ones.
Here is Keeyit's story of a traditional observation of the day.
My family have been christians for 3 generations, therefore we do not offer burnt offerings during Ching Ming. My parents would return to Sarikei for the occasion to clean the graves of my late paternal grandparents and other relatives but I have never been there.
Speaking of burnt offerings, my eyes spied on this article. Who would have thought of undergarments for the dead? The paper bras are imported from China. There's nothing the Chinese can't think of.

Keeyit, whether the design is to the liking of ancestors or not is a problem. Look at the pic, if the ancestors were fans of Madonna, ok lah. :P

when i travel i use disposable paper ones..after use, i just throw away. maybe the other world is just a little like traveling? a journey to some place

Sorry ah Bengbeng, just kidding. We know what you actually meant.
